EU nationals do not require visas to stay in the Bahamas, and in the case of UK nationals – along with some other EU countries - can stay for up to eight months. US nationals do not require a visa either, again for stays of up to eight months. Check with a local embassy for further details.

Most EU nationals, UK inclusive, and US nationals do not even require a passport to enter the Bahamas for stays of up to three weeks (EU) or eight months (US). All that is required is photo ID along with a birth certificate, citizenship card or other official document – check with an embassy before travelling. It should be noted, however, that passports are required to return to EU countries and the US.
